Family & Friends-
Amy is recovering in her room at UCSF and although a little sore she is doing great! Her room includes a strange roommate, loving nurses and a window in which she can see the sky above her. The word from the surgeons was the surgery went smoothly, no complications and they had no trouble removing the met. The doctor I spoke to said, "This was the best case scenario. Everything went great!" The tiny tumor they extracted was even packaged up and shipped to Arizona for analysis so we shall see what mysteries that itty-bitty actually holds in the coming weeks.
The nurses and the docs are all hopeful Amy can return home tomorrow! For those of you asking if you can send things to the hospital we have been told to refrain if possible. Especially if she does get released tomorrow, it would be best to send any love to her Menlo Park address. Also, please know she is fully stocked up on books, blankets and fuzzy socks. Instead, a thoughtful note, text, song to share or the funniest thing you've seen online this week would be preferred. All of the little acts of love and encouragement have carried her through many days on her trek up this mountain and your prayers have sustained us all. For today, we are so grateful she has found this new peak and can see the sky above.
With much love,
Mindy
